Payments Manager
Position Description
The Payments Manager oversees the credit union's end to end payment operations including ACH, share drafts, wires, card networks, check processing, external transfers, and internal settlements ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant execution of all payment related activities. This role provides management leadership to the Payment Operations team, ensures adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., Nacha, Regulation E, PCI DSS, BSA), manages risk, and drives process improvement and technology optimization. The manager serves as an escalation point for payment exceptions, partners across departments to ensure strong member experiences, and leads audit readiness, vendor management, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for helping to shape company culture by aligning duties, responsibilities, and decisioning with company core values of partnership, accountability, welcoming presence, compassion and gratefulness.
